Commitment to Quality
BMH is committed to assuring the integrity, impartiality and quality of the products and services we deliver to our clients. As forestry and wood products professionals, we are accredited nationally and/or internationally against the international standards and guides applicable to the certification, inspection and test services we offer.
BMH is independently accredited by International Accreditation Service (IAS) for the provision of third party certification, inspection, and test services as outlined in our scope of accreditation. Each conformity assessment process requires a different set of accreditation requirements. The independent recognition of our capabilities and quality
systems allows you to be confident that the services BMH delivers are properly performed according to applicable international standards.
Additional information regarding the scope of BMH accreditations can be obtained by viewing our certificates of accreditation:
In addition to our independent accreditations, BMH is an authorized Third Party Certifier (TPC) approved by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) to certify manufacturers who produce composite wood products that conform to CARB ATCM 93120 requirements. BMH participates in Inter-Laboratory Comparisons (ILC) conducted periodically by CARB and we are proud to post our laboratory’s 2013 and 2014 ILC performance scores. BMH’s lab number in the 2013 report is “NN” and in the 2014 report is “OO”.
Commitment to Impartiality
Impartiality is a fundamental element of any credible certification body. The overall aim of certification is to give confidence to all parties that a product or a service fulfills specified requirements. The value of certification is the degree of confidence and trust that is established by an impartial and competent assessment by a third-party. Being impartial, and being perceived as impartial, is necessary for BMH to deliver certification services that provide confidence.
BMH is committed to impartiality in certification, inspection, and test activities, and has the overall responsibility to ensure that the provision of such services is done in accordance with applicable reference standards, BMH internal procedures, and the international standards that guide our independent accreditations. BMH management declares that it understands the importance of impartiality in carrying out its certification, inspection, and test activities, and has mechanisms in place to identify and manage conflicts of interest and therefore ensure the impartiality of BMH services. For more information, please read our Impartiality Policy.
